Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland and Music Generation Louth present an evening of harping to celebrate Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2025 on Saturday October 18th.
We are delighted to welcome Monaghan composer Michael Rooney and flute player June McCormack back the Oriel Centre, and they will be joined by the Music Generation Louth Harp Ensemble and local harper Rachael Dooley. This event is supported by the Louth County Arts Office at Louth County Council. Join us and celebrate our national instrument.

We welcomed the incredible duo of Ryan Molloy and Fergal Scahill to Dundalk last week to facilitate the composition of a suite of new music with the Nós Nua crew. 6 new tunes to introduce to the world sometime very soon. Watch this space.

Are You Ready for the Musical Sparks to Fly ?

The fabulous duo of virtuoso fiddle player Fergal Scahill & TG4 Composer of the year Ryan Molloy, are joining us in Dundalk Gaol on Sunday 13th April for an Easter concert featuring tracks from their newest CD release ‘the Gannets Dive’ . There is no better way to get in the mood for Easter break than an evening with this massively talented pair, whose musical brilliance and soulful playing has astounded audiences worldwide. The two renowned musicians are in town working with the highly acclaimed Nós Nua - Youth Folk Orchestra, who have featured on numerous TV productions in recent years including Creedons Atlas Of Ireland, and released their own debut album ‘Causeway’ in 2024.

Multi-instrumentalist Fergal Scahill is best known as the fiddle player in award winning band We Banjo 3, recipients of the RTE Folk Awards Album of the Year 2018, Irish Times Album of the year in 2012 and two No. 1 albums on the Billboard bluegrass charts in the USA.
Fergal has performed in over 30 countries and recorded on over 40 albums with musicians from all over the world, including three solo albums, six albums with his band We Banjo 3, two albums with his band Freewheel and two successful charity albums for Pieta House & The Hope foundation collaborating with some of the greats of Irish music.

Ryan Molloy’s compositional and performance work sits at the boundary of contemporary classical music and traditional Irish music and is internationally recognised for its cross-genre innovation, musicality, and deep-rooted exploration of place and time. Ryan’s has written over fifty works and his music has been performed to audiences on four continents. Ryan has been commissioned by both RTÉ and the BBC, as well as a range of renowned performers such as Darragh Morgan, Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble & the Irish Chamber Orchestra. Ryan has recorded on over twenty albums as a pianist, composer and arranger. Ryan was honoured with the TG4 Graham Cheoil for Composer of the Year in 2024, and is an Associate Professor of Composition at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.
