Junior Achievement Ireland Junior Achievement Ireland inspires young people to realise their potential by valuing education and understanding how to succeed in the world of work.

We are part of JA Worldwide, a 5-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) encourages young people to remain in education and teaches them the skills they need to succeed in a changing world. JAI is part of a worldwide organisation reaching out to 12million young people each year. It was established in Ireland in 1996 and since then has built up a strong demand from schools

throughout the country and created successful partnerships with over 170 leading organisations. JAI is helping to create a culture of enterprise within the education system. We also help young people prepare for the world of work, giving them skills in communications and preparing for interviews. Financial literacy programmes teach students how to manage, protect and make the most out of their future salaries. As we move towards a knowledge-based economy, JAI is also bringing science and maths skills to thousands of young students nationwide through our programmes and events.

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🌍

Through Junior Achievement Ireland’s It’s Our Planet programme, delivered by a volunteer from KPMG Ireland, 3rd class students at Claregalway Educate Together National School in Co. Galway explored how small actions can make a big impact on the environment.

The programme gives students simple ways to reduce waste, reuse materials, and recycle and follows through with practical sustainable actions students can take at home and in school.

When sustainability is embedded into education early on, students can really explore how their actions can shape the world around them, creating a strong sense of connection and confidence with the environment 🍃.

What happens when classroom learning meets real-world experience? Confidence grows, curiosity sparks, and maths starts to make sense.

Students from Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní in Coolock, Dublin participated in hands-on, team-based challenges that brought maths to life in a whole new way. Through the JAI “Working It Out” programme, Top Oil - Fueling Ireland volunteers used sports and games to help 5th class students explored key mathematical concepts like fractions, ratios, and percentages.

It was wonderful to see the students really enjoying the activities and at the same time developing problem-solving skills, communication and a stronger sense of how maths connects to everyday life.

The energy, teamwork and enthusiasm on display reflected students growing in both skill and self-belief.

47 6th class students at Scoil Íosagáin Aghada NS recently took part in a fun and active Working It Out event, where maths came to life through games, teamwork and problem-solving.

Students rotated through activities including basketball, skipping, bingo, penalty shootouts and ring toss, using their scores to work out fractions, ratios, percentages and other maths challenges.

The event helped students see how maths can be used in everyday life while building confidence, teamwork and critical thinking skills.

A big thank you to the team from Irving Oil for creating such an engaging and memorable learning experience.

5th Year students from Grange Community College recently completed the Career Success programme with a visit to Microsoft.

Throughout the programme, students developed skills in communication, teamwork, personal branding and interview preparation before putting them into practice through mock interviews and workplace activities at Microsoft.

Experiences like this help students build confidence, prepare for future opportunities and gain a real insight into the world of work.

A big thank you to the Microsoft Ireland team for supporting and inspiring the students throughout the programme.

Students at Olm Drimnagh recently explored the world of Artificial Intelligence through an interactive workshop delivered by volunteers from Marsh McLennan’s Dublin Innovation Centre (Life at Marsh McLennan Agency).

Students learned about the history of AI, machine learning, generative AI and the ethical questions surrounding emerging technologies through hands-on activities and discussions.

The workshop also included career talks, where students heard real-life experiences from professionals and learned that skills like teamwork, communication, curiosity and problem-solving are just as important as qualifications in today’s workplace.

By the end of the morning, students left feeling more informed, inspired and confident about future opportunities in technology and beyond.

A big thank you to the Marsh McLennan volunteers for creating such an engaging and meaningful experience for the students.

We were delighted to join the EPA Ireland for their Agency Day on 21 May, celebrating the continued impact of our partnership with Junior Achievement Ireland.

Over the past year, this collaboration has reached 1,630 students across 48 schools in 14 counties through programmes such as Climate Change and You, supported by 64 business volunteers, including 33 EPA team members.

A highlight of the day was recognising EPA volunteers with Certificates of Achievement for their commitment to bringing real-world insight into classrooms and inspiring students to take action on climate and sustainability.

“Their expertise and enthusiasm empowered our students to connect global challenges to everyday actions and feel that their contribution matters.” - Ms. Green, Emo National School, Laois

Our sincere thanks to the EPA for their ongoing partnership and to all volunteers making a meaningful difference in schools and communities nationwide. We look forward to continuing this important work together.

Today, Junior Achievement Ireland brought together leaders from industry and education to explore how AI is reshaping CSR and the future of work at our annual CSR Leaders Network event.

Keynote speaker Kenneth McKenzie PhD from Accenture led the audience on an in-depth exploration of topics including the growing impact of AI on Learning & Development and the importance of safeguarding critical thinking and creativity in the age of AI. Panellists Joanne Doyle, MBS (Aramark Ireland), Rachel O'Connor (NAPD), and Deirdre Kelly (IPPN) explored the pros and cons of AI in their roles, singling out the advantages of creating learning pathways and tiered learning plans that are more inclusive, as well as apprenticeship programmes in organisations. The panel also highlighted the importance of critical thinking to give students the skills they need to harness the power of AI.

At JAI, we believe collaboration between education and industry has never been more important. As AI transforms the workplace, we remain focused on equipping young people with essential human skills like confidence, resilience, problem-solving and teamwork.
