A big thank you to the team from VisionAid Technologies Ltd for visiting ChildVision yesterday and showcasing some of the latest assistive technology available for people with vision impairment.

Access to the right technology can make a world of difference for children returning to school, helping them access learning materials, work more independently, and participate confidently alongside their peers. From innovative magnification solutions to the latest accessibility devices, it was fantastic to see how technology continues to open doors and create opportunities for students with vision impairment.

Thank you for sharing your expertise with our staff, students, families and community. We look forward to working together to help children achieve their full potential. đź’™

What a fantastic day at the NeuroArt Family Festival 2026 in Portlaoise!

ChildVision was proud to be part of this warm, creative and inclusive event, which brought together families, community organisations, artists and supporters to celebrate neurodiversity and accessibility. Help Us Make Our Voices Heard

Children and young people with visual impairments deserve the opportunity to thrive, but this can only happen when the right supports and services are properly funded. As the Government prepares its next Budget, now is the time to ensure their needs remain a priority.

Our Budget Submission and Advocacy Toolkit are available now on the ChildVision website, outlining the key investments needed to support children and young people who are blind or vision impaired across Ireland.

Download the toolkit
Contact your local TD or representative
Ask them to support increased funding for vital specialist services

Every voice matters. With sustainable government investment, we can continue providing life-changing education, therapies, family supports, assistive technology, and opportunities that empower children and young people to reach their full potential.

Together, we can help ensure that no child is left behind.

Have Your Say on Braille Literacy Worldwide

ChildVision is proud to support the Global Braille Literacy Campaign, More Braille: More Empowerment, and encourage our community to take part in the newly launched Global Braille Survey.

Led by the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI), and the World Blind Union (WBU) the survey aims to gather experiences and perspectives from people around the world on how braille is learned, taught, accessed, and used, helping to identify both opportunities and barriers to braille literacy.

We encourage participation from:
Adults who are blind, have low vision, or are deafblind
Parents and guardians of children with visual impairments
Teachers and professionals involved in braille education
Braille transcribers

Every response will help build a stronger evidence base to support advocacy, policy, research, and improved access to braille literacy globally.

📝 Take the survey here: tiny.cc/braillesurvey

Please help spread the word so that as many voices as possible are heard. Together, we can strengthen braille literacy and empower future generations.
