🥊💚 Katie Taylor – Proof of Where Community Sport Can Lead
Tonight, as Ireland once again celebrates the incredible Katie Taylor, we’re reminded of something we believe deeply in at Arklow Community Excellence, community sport matters.
Every champion starts somewhere.
In a local club.
With a volunteer coach.
With parents, families and communities standing behind them.
With someone giving their time to encourage a young person to keep going.
Katie Taylor has become one of Ireland’s greatest ever athletes, but just as inspiring as her achievements is the grace, humility and determination she has shown throughout her journey.
She has opened doors for generations of young girls and women, showing them that there is a place for them in sport and that no dream is too big.
That is why our local sports clubs, coaches and volunteers are so important. They don’t just teach sport, they build confidence, friendships, resilience, belonging and sometimes help shape the champions of tomorrow.
From all of us at Arklow Community Excellence, thank you to every person volunteering in community sport across Arklow and the wider Municipal District.
And to Katie, thank you for continuing to inspire an entire nation. 🇮🇪🥊💚
