Every day on our Mobile Health Unit, our nurses meet people where they are—bringing vital cancer prevention information and support directly to communities across Ireland.

In this video, one of our nurses, Laura shares what makes her role so meaningful. From discussing the importance of early detection to offering reassurance and support, every conversation has the potential to make a lasting impact.
Awareness and early detection save lives. Thanks to the dedication and compassion of our nursing team, we can continue bringing that message to communities nationwide.

A huge thank you to our incredible nurses, whose expertise, kindness, and commitment help us make a difference every day. 💙

Supporter Spotlight: Mary 💛
"Cancer has touched my life in more ways than I can count.
I lost my Mam to a brain tumour when I was 13 & my Dad to oesophageal cancer in 2009. Other close family members & friends have also been taken by cancer, but thankfully many more have come through their own battles & are living proof of how important every breakthrough in research really is.

In 2020, I had my own mini scare. Thankfully, for me, “benign” will always be the greatest word in any language.

Today, I have friends who are facing cancer journeys in very different ways: some are just starting treatment, some are in remission, others unfortunately facing difficult futures. Watching people you care about go through this reminds you how important the support they receive is.

That's why I'm taking on the 100k in 30 Days Challenge in June to support the Marie Keating Foundation. All funds raised support the foundation's free cancer support services, including nurse helpline support, education programmes, early detection awareness, & community outreach across Ireland.

On a personal level, this challenge comes at a time when I'm struggling with my mental health. Committing to getting out & walking every day will give me purpose, structure & a positive goal to focus on. If I can improve my own wellbeing while helping raise money for such an important cause, that's a win worth walking for.

Every step & every euro makes a difference." Thank you, Mary, for sharing your story and for supporting the challenge rain or shine.🌧️☀️

In honour of Father’s Day, we would like to pay tribute to our community of men who are living with cancer, on active treatment or those who are navigating life after cancer. We also honour the men we have known and stood with who have passed.

Your stories inspire others to speak out, reach out and seek valuable support.

We would also like to pay tribute to the men our nurses meet out in communities around Ireland, ready to listen, learn ways to support cancer prevention and early detection for themselves and their families. To the fathers of the future our nurses speak to in schools around Ireland, apply what you learn and continue to teach others.

We urge more men to reach out, ask questions, seek support.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there and our thoughts are with anyone for whom the day may be painful, please be gentle with yourself.

This Men’s Health Week, we're proud to shine a spotlight on our male ambassadors.
Through their support, advocacy and willingness to share important health messages, they are helping us start conversations that can save lives.
Our ambassadors recognise the importance of learning about cancer prevention and early detection—for themselves, their families and their communities.

To our male ambassadors, thank you for using your voice to encourage men to prioritise their health, ask questions, and seek support when they need it.

Supporter Spotlight: Rachel 💛

One of the most meaningful parts of our 100km in 30 Days challenge is hearing the personal stories behind why our participants have chosen to get involved.
This June, Rachel is taking on the challenge with her colleagues in Flogas. Here's her story:

‘Cancer has touched the hearts of everyone in someway, shape or form. For me personally my 1st experience was when I was 16 my dad Jim Flood was diagnosed with prostate cancer, sadly it had gone to the bone and he only survived 2 years.

December 4th 2005, I lost my beautiful dad at his young age of 61, I was only 18 and in 6th year, doing my leaving cert. It was the most difficult time of my life, I had to grow up very quick and when I look back he was so young to have lost his life to cancer.

So this June my Birthday month I am taking on this walking challenge to move more and clock up as many kilometres as possible and hit the 100k target ❤️.”

To spread awareness Rachel brought her challenge t-shirt and company mascot with her to the Boyzone concert in London. The photos certainly got people talking, with plenty stopping to ask about the challenge and the Foundation along the way!

Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your story and for supporting the challenge.

Today we would like to honour Marie Keating and send our thoughts and prayers to the Keating family on the day of her birthday.

Sadly, at just 51 years old Marie died from breast cancer.

She passed away, in part, because she did not know enough about cancer and the importance of early detection. If Marie had understood her symptoms and if she had been treated earlier, there is every chance she would still be with us today.

The Keating family set up the Foundation in her name passionately committed to ensuring that men and women all over Ireland regardless of their income, status or background would have access to free, lifesaving cancer information, advice, and support to improve early detection and ultimately save lives. They wanted to take the fear out of a cancer diagnosis through education and awareness.

The Keating family, the Foundation and nursing team remain committed to this goal.

We provide information and support on Irelands most common cancers helping people detect it at its earliest stages. We support patients and their families at every step of a cancer journey.

If we can help you or one of your loved ones please reach out.

If you would like to help us support more people facing cancer you can still sign up or donate to our 100km in 30 days challenge and help save lives at every step.
