Northwest Coastal Clean ups

The Wild Atlantic Way lived up to its name over the winter with plenty waves to keep the surfers happy. As usual the winter storms have washed up lots of plastic and rubbish on our coast too.

We’re hoping to do a coastal clean up at the Tullaghan access to the sea on Saturday the 25th of April between 10 and 12 . Everyone welcome! Photo credit .industries

Thousands of pieces of litter will be plucked from the beaches all over Ireland next weekend as part of the the cleancoasts Big Beach Clean!

Be part of it! We’ll be doing a beach clean over at the new access to the sea area in Tullaghan at 11 on Saturday the 20th

We had a wee beach clean in Tullaghan on Thursday for the
It was a stunning evening and a massive thanks to everyone who took a bit of time out of their day to come down .

There was 46 tonnes of rubbish collected during the last year .Hopefully our little pile will contribute to a similar amount in 2024.

We filled out data cards ,as part of a worldwide citizen science project.This will help heighten awareness about the issue of marine litter serving as an indicator of the magnitude of the problem and help shape future policies and campaigns. We found lots of fabrics,plastics and randomly a set of arrows💘💘💘

We are hoping to do a beach clean on Thursday the 19th of September between 5pm and 7pm as part of the .We will be meeting up on the green area to the south of the Drowes river. Litter pickers,gloves and bags will be provided ,bring the kids,they love the litter pickers!

Everybody is welcome ,it’s a great chance to be part of something that is local ,national and international. Coastal clean up groups will be meeting up all over the world as part of of a call o action by

Only two more Ocean Warrior surf camps left to go this summer before all our wonderful young surfers go back to school.

Our next surf camp starts at 10.45 am on Monday.

Our summer camp is designed to bring out the inner Ocean Warrior in every participant regardless of ability with the help of the expert Sligo Surf Experience team. All surf camps in Strandhill are personally supervised by Seamus Mc Goldrick, the most experienced surf school manager in Strandhill. Seamus is an Irish bodyboarding national champion with a lifetime experience surfing in Strandhill.
