Our Glimmer Awards✨️

We were absolutely delighted to spend time in some of our local schools over the past few weeks. We got to see some of the fantastic work they did supporting, learning and educating the students about Autism and Neurodiversity. This is something they happens throughout the year and not just for Autism Awareness Month.

We got to hear from some students who wrote stories about their own experience or family experience, watch educational videos and discuss afterwards with the class.

We heard some students participated in a lesson where they had to learn a way to communicate without using speech, which they said they found really eye opening.

We got to go a speak to some classes ourselves which was just fantastic and each classroom in the whole school had a sensory corner in it which was amazing to see!!

One story was just absolutely beautiful to hear. With end of school year rounding up, a child found grauating a little too overwhelming. Their wonderful teacher decided instead to have a separate day in class where all the childen come in and celebrate everything this child loves and do it in a way they feel most comfortable and special 🥺

This shows how every single person can always be included and how to not make children always "fit" into our world but make more room for theirs🫶🏻.

We were so happy to be able to install some sensory swings into the schools for participating. Thank you to for coming out to help.

*Glimmers are small positive moments that make us feel a sense of joy, connection, peace and safety ✨️🌈

We had the pleasure this morning of being invited into Kildalkey National School as part of their Autism Awareness Month. We got to speak to 3rd, 4th ,5th and 6th classes.

We, as always were absolutely blown away with the students and teachers. We loved talking about sensory awarness as this was a focus for them this year. The children were full of questions and already had so much knowledge around Autism and Neurodiversity.

We got to spend time and with each class and around the school we could see and sense the most amazing awareness, acceptance and inclusion for every person there.

This is what real inclusion looks like, not just on paper or reading about it but seeing and feeling it as part of everyday life. Were everyone can be their true authentic selves with the right support to shine and thrive.

Thank you Kildalkey National school for always leading with this and what a fabulous job you are all doing ✨️🙌🏻
