Active South Dublin is 1 of a national network of 32 Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs) and was set up in 2007 after funding was received from the Irish Sports Council (ISC). Active South Dublin is part of the Co. Development Board network. rd level education, local area support groups, chamber of commerce, ethnic minority) and sporting groups (GAA, FAI, IRFU, Athletics, Special Olympics, Fed. The principal goal of Active South Dublin is to increase participation in sport/ physical activity among the community. In particular among certain target groups such as young children, teenage girls and women in general, people with disabilities, disadvantaged (socio-economic), older people and ethnic minorities. Active South Dublin will be looking at carrying out several functions to achieve its goal. These include; Information – being a conduit of info to/from clubs and groups, the ISC and national governing bodies of sport (NGBs).
