The Black Hills 4x4 community showed up in force this weekend! A huge shout out to Edgar from the Dakota Territory Cruisers (DTC) Group for leading coordination on getting down trees cleared. He worked with the groups in the Black Hills 4x4 Coalition to coordinate what trails groups would tackle. This way we didnt have multiple clubs clearing the same stuff.

Over the weekend, the Black Hills 4 Wheelers and the cruisers hit Ice man on Saturday. While Black Hills Jeeps hit the Raspberry ridge area. BHJ ended up clearing 2 trees from the main trail, and one from a special use trail.

Then, another shoutout goes to Matthew Ogletree He took a few guys to camp 5 to clear Kong, as well as a few other sections.

This is what keeps trails open, active volunteers out doing their part on the trail. Thanks again everyone!

August of 2024 saw the Grind Hard Pluming YouTube Channel team up with the Gambler 500 and the Sons of Smokey Crew. They came with the goal to leave our forest better.

There was an old slide in Camper outside of Keystone in a popular camping area. Little bit of coordination, and the team of guys came out to remove the Camper!

A thanks to pacific steel for taking it last minute!

Enjoy Chris Horning shiny head.

This project was to manage more user created routes on an iconic 9/10 rock crawling route. The coalition members also repaired many downed sections of Buck and rails. Users under equipped started bypassing the obstacles that make the trail what it is.

A reminder. User created bypasses and user created trails not shown on the Black Hills Motorozed Vehicle Use Map can put legal trails at risk of closure. Stay on trail to help us keep our awesome trail system open.

All Roads lead to Galena Buck and Rail Project. This project was to help keep a popular short trail above Galena open, and sustainable. Users were bypassing a 3/10 rated obstacle by creating a user created trail, Causing erosion and resource damage. By closing up the user created bypass, we can keep the area sustainable to motorized travel.

The second was a user created route to a popular overlook. This route was a blatant illegal route created by users. By closing the user created route, and encouraging users to take the time to enjoy the ride. Motorized traffic can continue visiting this incredible view.
