Mountmellick Women Shed

Mountmellick Women Shed We are a social community group created by women where we can re-connect with ourselves and the wider community.

It’s an opportunity to get involved in activities with others, learn or pass on skills, or just simply pass the time of day with other women.

Saturday was a great day for biodiversity in Portlaoise. Some of our members were delighted to avail of free native trees supplied by Laois Public Participation Network in collaboration with Portlaoise Tidy Towns. Brian Gaynor from Trees On The Land and Michael Buckley, Executive Parks and Landscape Officer with Laois County Council were just two of the experts offering help and advice. In Portlaoise Library, Lisa Doyle, Biodiversity Officer at Laois County Council was there to launch the new Seed Library where members can take seeds and collect and return seeds at the end of the season. Great work Lisa.
