It is with great sadness we heard the news of Gerry's passing yesterday morning. Gerry with his wife Carmel have been a big part of our Community for many years. Gerry had a word for everyone and took a great interest and gave full support to his Community.
To his devoted wife Carmel, his brothers Sean's, Frank, PJ and his sister Marion, his estended family and his many many friends we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.
Rest in peace Gerry .
A Tribute to Gerry Rushe R.I.P.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our great friend and supporter, Gerry Rushe.
Known far and wide for his great support of Mountbellew/Moylough, Galway football and hurling, the Irish soccer team and horse racing, Gerry was also a great community man. He was involved in many organisations in the community, always willing to help and having a positive influence wherever he went.
The Mountbellew Agricultural Show Society was one organisation that greatly benefited from his support. Gerry and his wife, Carmel, were wonderful sponsors of the Show. He was always there on Show Day, meeting and welcoming people to the Show and helping out wherever needed.
While the Show last Saturday was a great success, with a wonderful atmosphere around the grounds, there was also an air of sadness as people spoke about Gerry and his illness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and by the many organisations and communities that benefited from his generosity and support.
To his wife, Carmel, his brothers Seamus, Frank and P.J., his sister Marion, his extended family and his many friends, we offer our heartfelt sympathy at this very sad time.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
