People of all ages and abilities are warmly invited to join us for our next Comhaltas Cuimsiú Session — a relaxed and inclusive traditional music session created especially for those with disabilities or additional needs.
Whether you play the fiddle, bodhrán, harp, banjo, a non-traditional instrument, sing, dance, or simply enjoy the music, this is your chance to experience what it’s like to be part of a Trad session, surrounded by other musicians in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The session will be led by Mary Munnelly and Chuck Dunford and is supported by ÁIRC - Supporting Children with Disabilities in Mayo, Ballina Autism Friendly Town and Down Syndrome Mayo .
It will be hosted by CCÉ Admiral Brown, in The Moy Hotel on Sunday 18th October from 1:30pm - 3pm, as part of events taking place during Foxford Traditional Weekend.
Families, friends, and support persons are encouraged to come along, listen, and enjoy the music too.
Please note that musicians and their support persons should bring any instruments needed.
All musicians must be accompanied by a support person for the duration of the session.

🎶 CEOL AN GHEIMHRIDH 2026 🎶

Entries are now open for Mayo Ceol an Gheimhridh, which will take place in Westport on Saturday, 7th November 2026.

This is a great opportunity for younger members to take part in county-level competitions.

There are two age groups: Under 11 and 11–14 (age as of 1st January 2026).

PLEASE NOTE - CHANGE IN ELIGIBILITY FOR CEOL AN GHEIMHRIDH 2026/27
Please note: solo qualifiers to Fleadh Cheoil Connachta 2026 from Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2026 are ineligible to compete in this years Ceol an Gheimhridh in the category in which they competed in Fleadh Connachta. (e.g a competitor who qualified from the Mayo Fleadh on fiddle is ineligible to enter the strings competition in Ceol an Gheimhridh 2026/27 etc).

There is no entry fee – competitors pay the admission charge on the day.

Closing date for entries with the County Secretary: 2nd October 2026. Please check branch closing date with your branch secretary.

Applications are now open for the Preparatory TTCT Course

The Preparatory TTCT is designed to give foundation skills in teaching Irish traditional music to potential applicants who may not yet have acquired the experience necessary for the TTCT course. This one day course is open to everyone over the age of 16 and is delivered in person at various locations as well as online (International candidates only for online course).
