🌟Scór Final Night in Abbeylara🌟

Well done to the pupils from St. Guasacht’s NS Bunlahy, St. Patrick’s NS Killeen, St. Eimear’s NS, Sacred Heart NS Granard, St. Sinneach’s NS Colehill, St. Joseph’s NS Longford, St. Matthew’s NS Ballymahon, Stonepark NS, Melview NS, St. Teresa’s NS Killoe, St. Mary’s NS Edgeworthstown, St. Columba’s NS Mullinalaghta, St. Mel’s NS Ardagh and Scoil Bhríde NS Kilasonna who took part in the Scór Final in Abbeylara last Thursday night. The judges had some very tough decisions to finalise by the end of the night. Again, a huge thank you to their teachers, parents and volunteers who helped prepare them for the night. Well done to St.Teresa’s NS who were named as school of the year. Many thanks to Abbeylara and their volunteers for hosting our final night of entertainment and the staff of the Sacred Heart NS Granard for again being so helpful and accommodating. Congratulations to all the schools that entered Scór, we look forward to doing it all over again next year. Enjoy the pictures captured last Thursday night.📸

Well done to all 19 schools who participated in our Scór Tráth na gCeist yesterday evening in St. Teresa’s N.S., Killoe, as always the standard remained very high throughout each round. Many thanks to St.Teresa’s NS for hosting and congratulations to the top three teams Stonepark NS, St. Matthew’s NS, Ballymahon and Melview NS who all qualify for the final in Abbeylara tomorrow Thursday. 👏🙌

What a fantastic day we had at our Annual Mini Sevens Tournament in Killoe last Thursday! 🌞

From early morning, the sun was shining as 26 teams from across the county made their way to Killoe, setting the stage for a brilliant day of football, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

A huge thank you to Emmet Óg G.A.A. Killoe Killoe Emmet Óg for hosting the event and providing such excellent facilities for all involved.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the TY students from St. Mel’s College, Longford, who assisted throughout the day and played a vital role in ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are very grateful to our six referees who kept all the matches flowing and ensured fair play across the board.

Sincere thanks to our dedicated committee for organising such a successful event and for all the hard work happening behind the scenes to make days like this possible.

Congratulations to St. Teresa’s N.S. girls St Teresa's NS Killoe Parents & Finance Committee who emerged victorious after an excellent encounter with Dromard N.S. in a thrilling girls’ final. Well done also to Colmcille N.S., St. Colmcille's NS who stormed to victory in a cracking end-to-end game against Drumlish N.S. in the boys’ final.

Well done to the pupils from St. Patrick’s N.S. Ballinamuck, Fermoyle N.S., Scoil Samhthann N.S. Ballinalee, St. Teresa’s N.S. Killoe, Melview N.S. and St. Guasacht’s N.S. Bunlahy who took part in the Scór Semi-Final Night 4 in St. Teresa’s N.S., Killoe. As always, the talent was extremely high from all the boys and girls. A big thank you to their teachers, parents and volunteers who helped prepare them for the night. Many thanks to St. Teresa’s N.S., their staff and parents association for being so helpful and accommodating for our fourth night of entertainment this week. Congratulations to Maebh Reilly,Lorcan Reilly, Ben O Brien, Paidi Reilly, Senan Cooney and Sean Kiernan who represented Cumann na mbunscol Longfoirt and their school Scoil Mhuire Newtownforbes in a Handball Competition in Croke Park last week.
We are very proud of the boys and girls and look forward to seeing them compete for many years to come.

What a fantastic afternoon at our second Cumann na mBunscol Sports Quiz! 👏

Huge congratulations to all thirteen schools who took part. The standard was incredibly high, making for a very tight and exciting quiz right to the final round.

A special well done to St. Matthew's N.S. Ballymahon, who emerged victorious for the second year in a row 🏆.
🥈 Second place went to Melview N.S.
🥉 Third place to St. Mary's N.S. Edgeworthstown

We would like to sincerely thank St. Mary's Community Centre for allowing us to host the event in such a welcoming venue.
A big word of thanks also to all the Cumann na mBunscol Committee members who helped make the day run so smoothly, with a special mention to our brilliant quizmaster Aron Fitzpatrick, who kept everyone on their toes from start to finish.

St. Matthew’s N.S. Ballymahon will now go on to proudly represent our county at the All-Ireland Sports Quiz Finals in the coming weeks – best of luck to them! 🍀

A great day was had by all and a super way to kick off the first of our Cumann na mBunscol events of the new year.

We are looking forward to seeing all schools in St. Mary's Centre, Edgeworthstown tomorrow Friday for our Sports Quiz at 11.30am. We ask if school quiz teams could arrive by 11.20am. We are looking forward to our first event of 2026.

🏆🏆 Division 1 Mixed League Champions 🏆 🏆

St. Michael’s NS met Melview NS in the Division 1 Mixed League final. Both teams gave a super performance and showed off excellent skills of courage.

Congratulations Melview, Division 1 Mixed League Champions 2025.
