Comhaltas Preparatory Traditional Irish Music Teaching Course 2026

Age: 16+

The Preparatory TTCT course is designed for anyone aged 16 or over who is interested in developing foundational teaching skills and gaining experience in preparation for TTCT entry. No previous teaching experience is required, and the course also offers existing TTCT teachers an opportunity to refresh their skills. The Ireland course takes place on Sunday, 13 September, from 10.00am to 5.00pm for Munster in Brú Ború, Cashel (courses also in Omagh, Sligo and Monkstown on same day)

Registration night for music and singing classes.

CCÉ Athea will host our music and singing registration night from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in Batts Bar on Thursday 3rd September 2026.
We look forward to meeting new and returning students for the coming year.
If you are unable to attend, please send a message, and we will accommodate registration in an alternative way.

Please note: Music and singing lessons begin on September 17th in Batts Bar. All students will need a display folder and their instrument of choice.

🎶 We’ll have a céilí band in Bruff yet! 🎶

We are building up our bank of instruments and will have a lot more variety this year.

We’re hoping to see lots of new musicians picking up an instrument and getting involved!

The new instruments will be available on loan to our students, making it easier to give something a try before you commit.

Come along to our *Open Night* on Monday, 7th September at 6pm at Bruff GAA Clubhouse.

You’ll have the chance to try out all of the instruments and find out more about the classes we’ll be offering this year.

If you’ve ever dreamed of playing the banjo, fiddle or concertina, drop in on the 7th of September to find out all about the classes this year! We’ll also have whistle, flute, mandolin, accordion, keyboard and guitar.

We’d encourage both kids and adults to come along — whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to play after many years.

See you on Monday, 7th September. We’re really looking forward to meeting everyone! 🎵
