Northside 2/1 Balla

We took home the 3 points in a local derby against Balla, we started the game on the front foot dominated throughout the first half with brilliant passing and moving Sean Toomey in midfield was excellent and with the silky Jamie Hogan and Anthony Tonty Byrnes we have 3 super footballers in our midfield it was an outside of the foot through ball from Jamie Hogan which lead to the opening goal which was finished with conviction by the lively Jake Murphy we doubled our lead when that man Murphy finished with his left after good work by Kian Ryan in truth we should’ve been 4 or 5 up at the break we started the second half a bit shaky and Balla got a good goal to make a game of it we kept creating chances but couldn’t add to our tally however a well deserved result and you can see the work in training coming into our matches and in captain Jordan Franklin and Adam Mc Namara at centre back we have an outstanding duo leading our back line assistant coach Wayne Fitz came on and played well winning balls and laying them off overall a great all round team effort and well deserved 3 points

[ Northside 2- Moyross C 2 ]

Northside played out a draw against a strong Moyross team. Going down two 2-0 early in the match it looked a tough task to get anything out of this game.

However, the TEAM SPIRIT and work rate and friendship of this young side to fight for each other shone through as they were rewarded with a well deserved draw through a brace from the clinical Luke Brosnihan - adding to his impressive tally so far this season.

Jordan Franklin led the comeback like something out of 300[ the movie ]- making searing runs to try and get one back - and was rewarded 5 minutes before half time with a well delivered ball for the on running Luke Brosnihan who duly obliged with a superb finish to the back of the Moyross Net.

Throughout the second half we grew more and more into the game and had strong performance form Sean Toomey who was first to the ball and one some important frees for his team aswell and covering every blade of grass.

Also the introduction of Anthony Kyole brought a renewed energy and fighting spirit that lifted his team mates.

Leon Tobin was first to every ball and this helped to settle the team and help improve confidence - with sweeping tacking / clearances and interceptions.

Also, Dylan Franklin player some lovely balls through the lines with Jamie Hogan and Young Toomey. Anthony Byrnes also tried hard throughout until the introduction of the experienced a thomas hogan who brought a real Composure to the team.

Jake Murphy gave it his also and played in through an injury to help his team mates claw back from near defeat.

Dylan a Bourke also show grit and helped the Northside group push on with further chances that were not too far away- a lovely free kick by dylan Franklin went close. Christopher Guerin tried hard also throughout in Goals and linked well with the defence.

Those also to play well were Anthony Byrnes, Wayne Fitzgerald , Kian Ryan , Leon Daly, Luke Oshea.

Finally, with great effort and determination Northside we’re rewarded for their fighting spirit on 89 minutes when the never say attitude of Captain Jordan Franklin was rewarded when he assisted the winner for the clever Luke Brosnihan. Our attention now turns to an away fixture next Thursday night against Lough Derg kick off 6.30pm.

Well done to Wayne Fitzgerald and Jeffrey O’Donnell who have this side playing some fine football.

[Northside 8 Parkville 1 ]

A POWERFUL display by a young and hungry Northside outfit. From the off a fantastic display of football , with tenacity and determination all on display - saw Northside take home all 3 points against a valiant Parkville side.

Northside opened the scoring through great enter play from the back that led to a defence splitting pass by Leon Tobin for the oncoming Jake Murphy to dispatch to the roof of the net.

Luke Brosnihan then popped up with a daisy cutter of a finish - again Leon Tobin Provider. Kian Ryan then punished with Anthony Byrnes supplying the opportunity and Ryan obliged.

Jake Murphy took home the match ball with a tally of three. And again Byrnes with a couple more assists aswell as a goal to finish off a good night at the office for him personally.

Also, Luke Brosnihan had a powerful brace and came off on the hour mark.

[ Captain ]Jordan Franklin was immense throughout and was rewarded with a cracker of a goal that was the highlight of the fixture such was the power of the strike and accuracy. Also , a feature was Jordan’s brother Dylan’s contribution who also covered a lot of ground over the 90 with 2 assists also to his name.

Leon Tobin - again deserves an honourable mention he was like Vinny Jones in mean machine- with a strong physical display to add to his game winning key battles.

Others to play well include -Luke Oshea diligent throughout and effective , Anthony Kyole -big energy , Jamie and Thomas Hogan showed some great touches and inter play. Leeroy woodland a talented soccer player in his youth made a welcome return and tried hard throughout and could of had a couple on another day.

Sean Toomey , was like an engine out a a fighter jet in the middle and only for the Parkville keeper would have had a double brace at least.

Christopher Guerin on goals was also solid and organised his defence well.

Head coach Wayne Fitzgerald added that ‘some lovely ball had been played tonight - thanked all boys wider squad for efforts in training and with regard to attitude- I would also like to mention our leader Team manager Jeff O’Donnell who is smiling over in lanzarote where he is taking a well deserved few day break after a busy year on the football front’.

Attention now turns to Sunday when we play our neighbours Moyross United at 2pm at home.

Dromore 5/3 Northside Fc

Our first game together was against a fit and well organised Dromore side and to be fair they started much sharper, we created chances but you could see we where rusty we found ourselves 3/0 down after 30 mins the introduction of our head Coach and veteran player Jeff O Donnell brought a lot of shape to the midfield and we began to take over and dictate the play there was a lot of positives throughout Jordan and Dylan Franklin had fine outings and passed the ball well and defended valiantly all game Anthony Tonty Byrnes up to had silky touches,Sean Magil was outstanding and marked his debut game with a quality strike!Dylon Bourke was also powerful and also scored a beauty but the puck of the goals came from a super free kick from the electric Jake Murphy leaving the keeper standing,Alfie Duggan did well in goals and this was a great starting point!! Great debuts from Sean Toomey,Sean Magil,Anthony Kyole,Leon Daly,Jordan Wyse and Ger and James hogan!
