Could you be one of our next Community First Responder volunteers?❤️

We’re looking for new members to join our local Community First Responder (CFR) group, and we’d love to hear from people in our Leixlip community who might be interested in getting involved.

As a CFR, you can make a real difference when someone in Leixlip needs urgent help. Working alongside the emergency services, CFRs are trained to provide vital support and lifesaving care while an ambulance is on the way.

You don’t need to have previous medical experience, full training is provided. What matters most is a willingness to learn, help others and have use of a car and full driving licence.

Being a CFR can be incredibly rewarding. You’ll gain valuable skills, meet other members of your community and, most importantly, have the opportunity to make a life-saving difference when it matters most. ❤️

Congratulations to Leixlips latest cardiac first responders, who received their certificates this week. 👏
This was a combined Leixlip CFR and GAA initiative.

Delighted to announce the installation of our latest public access AED in Hereford Park!

Thanks so much to Glenveagh Homes who sponsored and installed this AED, which will be managed by us.

This is located on the new creche building on your right, as you come into Hereford Park - this is also the closest AED to Barnhall Meadows.

Know where your nearest AED is, and always call 999/112 in an emergency.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Lyster.

While many will remember him as the face of The Sunday Game, Michael’s legacy extends beyond broadcasting. After surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in 2015, he contributed to CPR training videos and spoke openly about his experience with heart failure, helping to raise awareness through his own story.

We had the privilege of meeting Michael a few years ago at Confey College, where they were celebrating the rollout of CPR training throughout the school. It was a memorable occasion and he left a lasting impression on students and CFRs alike.

May he rest in peace.

KCRU is only one out of the 300+ CFR Schemes within Ireland.

The logo's of a small mix of schemes here reflect the diversity, scale and shared goals of each of the over 300 CFR schemes operating under the direction of the National Ambulance Service (NAS)

KCRU has been able to develop due to the support of not alone our locally based schemes back in 2015 but through the guidance and support at a national level.

This continues and we have also been privileged to provide support to schemes whether it be training, equipment or advice.

Working together at all times in the interests of patient care.
