The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland mobile bus will be in Rathdrum Primary Care Centre between 10am- 1pm on Wednesday 23rd September for anyone needing information about dementia & the supports available.

A great Cafe event this morning, thanks to all who attended. Special thanks to Garda Niall Kennedy An Garda Síochána Wicklow for an informative talk on The Herbert Protocol, and to William Belton for providing the music. September is the month in which we show our support for the tireless researchers who seek effective dementia treatments, and for the many thousands of people in the world living with AD. We also remember those who are no longer with us.
At Laragh Memory Cafe in the Brockagh Resource Centre next Friday (11am-1pm) you’re invited to wear a splash of purple, to show your support!

Is your loved one living with dementia at risk of going out alone and becoming lost?

A national initiative has been adopted from the UK to help when people living with dementia in Ireland go missing: The Herbert Protocol.
If you have a relative living with dementia, please complete a Herbert Protocol form and share it with family members- it saves time if your loved one goes missing, allowing the Gardaí to begin searching more quickly and in the most likely locations.
