Very glad to have attended this event to briefly chat about the wonderful pollinators found the last few years on John's farm during the Pollinator Monitoring scheme with Biodiversity Ireland .🐝 The hedgerows and clover swards provided habitat to bumblebees and hoverflies, with solitary bees availing of the exposed earthen ditches. The clumps of nettle provided vital food for our red butterfly caterpillars - who simply can't survive without them. A great example of a farm finding space for biodiversity! 🦋.
