Excited to share images from the KRHCC Feasibility Study and architect drawings outlining the proposed redevelopment plans.
Most importantly — the wishes of the community were heard.
The proposal includes:
• Purpose-built wraparound childcare with dedicated baby room
• Upgraded toilets and heating system
• Improved storage facilities to safely and efficiently house the additional resources required to deliver a high-class facility
• A new community garden
• A welcoming social space with coffee dock
This is about creating a true heart for the village - a warm, modern, central hub where children, families and residents can connect. A building the whole community can be proud of.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended on Sunday and took the time to share your feedback — it was hugely appreciated.
In particular, thank you to Cllr Ger Carthy, Cllr Vicky Barron and TD George Lawlor for attending and expressing their support for this project.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Eileen Dake and LEADER Programme for funding support, to Yvonne Byrne for completing the feasibility study, and to Brendan Roche of Stephen Carr Architects for the fantastic design and vision. And last but not least all the community members and students of Kilrane NS who responded to ours surveys.
For those who couldn’t make it, here are the proposed plans. The full feasibility study will be available shortly and can be accessed via a link, which we will share once it is finalised.
The committee is fully committed to working with our local representatives to identify and secure appropriate funding streams to help bring this vision to life.
If you are interested in getting involved, joining the committee, or volunteering to support specific elements of the project, we would genuinely love to hear from you. This will be a community achievement - and everyone’s support matters.
Together, we can build something special.
