Well done to all the Killorglin athletes who competed in the Community Games All Ireland Athletics Finals in Carlow at the weekend. They were all super and gave it 100% effort.
Over the past number of weeks they worked and trained so hard and the results reflected their effort and dedication.

Ciara Moore 8th in the 1500m u16 final.
Páidí ÓMuircheartaigh 4th in the u14 long jump.
Muiris Ó Muircheartaigh 6th in the u10 Hurdles final.
Doireann Reidy made top 8 in her ball throw group u12.
U10 mixed relay of Zoey Lynch, Zoe Daly, Jack Healy and Muiris ÓMuircheartaigh made the semi final.

Killorglin has had a very busy and successful year in Community Games to date. Our area took part in the following events at County Level: chess, quiz, soccer, basketball, talent solo singing, talent solo music, gymnastics, art, handwriting, cross country, marathon and track and field athletics.
Many of our competitors qualified for nationals in their chosen event.

A huge thanks to our committee and to all the volunteers who helped out in any way to keep Killorglin Community Games going.

A huge thanks also to Cromane GAA for the use of their field for our local athletics evening, Scoil Réalt na Mara for facilitating the quiz, Scoil Mhuire for hosting the art and hand writing and to Gaelscoil Naomh Séamus for hosting talent competition.

We look forward to doing it all again next year. 💙🤍

Killorgin Area Community Games long jump for u12 and u14 boys and girls, takes place this Friday at 7pm in the ISK dragons den.
Athletes Must be living in the killorglin parish.
First two in each category will represent the killorglin area at the kerry community games finals in Castleisland on June 21st & 22nd.

Killorglin Area Community Games Athletics.

Date: This Thursday 8th May
Venue: Cromane GAA club
Registration: 5:30pm
Races: 6pm - 8pm
Entry Fee: €3 u8-u16 & €1 for Tiny tots...cash only

Races: Tiny tots, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16.

Must be:
Under the age on July 31st 2025 &
Living in the Killorglin Parish area.

Top 2 in each event will qualify for the county finals in Castleisland on June 21st & 22nd.

Events:
Under 8: 60m & 80m

Under 10: 100m, 200m & hurdles.

Under 12: 100m, 200m, 600m ball throw & long puck( long puck for boys only)

Under 14: 100m, 200m, 800m, hurdles javelin & shot put.

Under 16: 100m, 200m, 1500m

Long jump for u12 and u14 will take place on a different day to be confirmed.

Killorglin Community Games will hold its area competition for solo music, singing and recitation on Thursday 3rd April in Gaelscoil Naomh Séamas.
Registration at 5:45pm
Competition at 6pm.

There are 2 age categories. Under 13 & Under 16.

There will be 3 competition on the night: solo singing, solo music and solo recitation.

*you must be under the age on 31st July 2025.
*living in the killorglin parish area.
*winners must be able to attend the kerry cultural finals on Sunday 27th April in An Ceolann, Lixnaw.

Killorglin Community Games Area 2025 Art and Handwriting competition will take place on Wednesday 2nd April in Scoil Mhuire, Killorglin.

Handwriting: 5pm to 6pm for under 10(over 6) under 12 & under 14 boys and girls.

Art: 6pm to 8pm for boys and girls under 8(over 6), u10, u12, u14, u16.

Children must be under the age on/before 31st July this year and living in the Killorglin Parish area.

Art u8 & u10 can draw any Community Games activity of their choice.
U12 , U14 & U16 must select from the following titles: solo dance, group singing, athletics relay, tag rugby, volleyball, pitch and put, long jump, cycling on grass, soccer, model making.

Please bring your own art materials, pencil, eraser, pointer, colours... etc.
Paper will be provided.
Please make sure your child's name, address, eircode, age, DOB and school is clearly marked on the back.

Killorglin Area Community Games Under 14 Quiz.

This quiz takes place in Scoil Réalt na Mara, Cromane on Wednesday 19th March from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

The 6 highest individual scorers in this local area quiz will form a team which will represent Killorglin in the County Community Games Quiz which takes place in Keel on Friday April 11th at 7pm.

Criteria:
*Must be living in the Killorglin, Cromane, Douglas, Caragh Lake area. (Killorglin Parish).
*must be born after 31st July 2011.
*must be available to attend the County Quiz in Keel on April 11th at 7pm.
