Down Syndrome Kilkenny is a voluntary association consisting of parents and families working to improve the lives of and act as a support to families of those with down syndrome. throughout the year. This is an excellent source of local information, advice and support as well as sharing similar experiences with each other.

It's back!!!!!

Purple Run is back 🏃💜

Irish rugby international Joe McCarthy has joined forces with his brother Andrew and members of Down Syndrome Ireland to launch the 2026 Purple Run! 🏃‍♀️

This October, during Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we’re calling on people across Ireland to walk, jog or run 42km across the month.

Joining Joe and Andrew as ambassadors are Fintan and his sister Kathrina, Liam, Elisha and Libb with her baby Ben.

And every euro raised will directly support Down Syndrome Ireland’s services nationwide, helping people with Down syndrome reach their potential and access support at every stage of life.
