A new voluntary Junior Chess Club to cater for children from the North Kildare area will commence on Wednesday the 25th January 2017. The club meets in St. Coca’s Scout Hall, Bridge Street, Kilcock, between 7.00pm and 8.30pm on Wednesdays. We aim to provide a fun and friendly venue for children, 7 to 15 years of age, to learn and play chess. The club is the brain child of two cub scouts (Darragh f

rom Kilcock and Darius from Maynooth) who came up with the idea as a route to their chief scout award. Both are frustrated by the distances they have to travel to play chess and they want to share their love of the game with others.
