🌼🐝 No Mow May is Back in Kilcormac! 🐝🌼

We are delighted to once again take part in No Mow May and we’re asking the community to get involved and support this important initiative 💚🌱

By leaving lawns, green areas and roadside verges grow naturally during May, we can provide vital food and habitats for bees, butterflies and other pollinators 🦋🐞🌼 These little creatures play a huge role in keeping our environment healthy and thriving.

Even letting a small patch of grass grow can make a big difference! 🌾✨ Wildflowers that naturally appear in longer grass help support biodiversity and add beautiful colour throughout the community.

So if you notice some areas looking a little wilder than usual… don’t worry, it’s all part of the plan 😉🌿

We would love to see local residents, businesses and groups join us by leaving a section of lawn uncut this month. Together we can help nature flourish in Kilcormac 🌍💚

Areas include: the Town Park, St. Cormacs Park, picnic areas on the Tullamore and Broughal rd and Fairgreen Street 🌼🌸

📸 Feel free to share your own No Mow May photos in the comments — we’d love to see them!

🌸🚗 Have you spotted Kilcormac’s newest “flower display” yet? 👀😂

A huge thank you to Hazi Tyres and Kelly’s Garage for generously donating these colourful hub caps, which have now found a new lease of life brightening up the plaza area beside the bridge on the Tullamore Road. 🎨✨

Our resident local Artist, Linda Kelly, had great fun giving them a splash of colour and turning something old into a quirky little public art feature for the community to enjoy. 🌈♻️

They might not need watering, but we think they’re blooming lovely all the same! 🌼😉

Keep an eye out next time you’re passing by and let us know which one is your favourite! 💕

🎨✨ Rock Painting Fun in Kilcormac! ✨🎨

What a fantastic day we had at our recent Rock Painting Workshop hosted by the KDA! 💛
We were delighted to welcome members of the Kilcormac Craft Group, students from Scoil Mhuire agus Cormac, and some of our very own Tidy Towns volunteers 👩‍🎨👨‍🎨
A huge thank you to Linda Kelly who kindly facilitated the workshop and guided everyone’s creativity 🌈👏
This was a truly special intergenerational event, bringing people of all ages together to connect, create, and get to know one another in a fun and relaxed environment 🤝💫
The beautifully painted stones are now hidden around our lovely town park 🌳 each one spreading good cheer, kind messages, and a splash of colour for everyone to enjoy 💕
🚶‍♀️ Why not take a stroll through the park and see how many you can spot?
🙏 We kindly ask that you leave the stones where they are… but even better — add to them! Paint your own rock and contribute to this growing collection of positivity and creativity 🎨💡
This was a truly fun and uplifting event for everyone involved and we’d love to see it continue!
