Naas Community First Responders Because we live or work in the area, we can respond in minutes and provide emergency measures and reassurance until the Ambulance Service arrives.

Naas Community First Responders (CFR) is a voluntary registered charity (RCN 20207026) manned by locals living in the Naas area dispatched by national ambulance service to 999/112 calls for choking, chest pain, stroke & cardiac arrest. 🚨 Calling ALL Naas & Sallins Canal Corridor Users & Residents – We Need YOUR Help! 🚨

We Naas CFR have some INCREDIBLE news to share! 🌟 Naas CFR has officially secured grant funding of €1,800 for a state-of-the-art, solar-powered heated outdoor cabinet—bringing us one huge step closer to protecting our local canal route! 🫶

Now, we need YOUR help 💪to finish the job and create a fully Heart Safe Naas & Sallins Waterway Corridor from Naas harbour to along the sallins greenway! 🙏

Because canal-side locations are completely off-grid with no mains power, these eco-friendly solar cabinets allow us to place life-saving defibrillators right at the water’s edge.

We are launching a campaign to raise €3,000 to buy 1) the AED unit for this first solar cabinet, PLUS 2) a second cabinet AND AED unit! This will guarantee continuous 24/7 cardiac coverage stretching all the way from Naas Harbour to down along the Sallins Greenway!

In a cardiac emergency, every single minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces survival chances by 10%. Having 24/7 accessible AEDs right along the canal will protect thousands of people every single day:
🏠 Canal Residents: Protecting households in waterfront estates and everyone living on barges & houseboats along the canal basin!
🚂 Train & Bus Commuters: Walking or cycling the towpaths to and from Sallins & Naas station.
🏃 Runners, Walkers & Dog Owners: Getting their daily steps in along the water.
🚴 Cyclists & Bike Renters: Exploring the scenic Grand Canal Greenway routes.
🚣 Boaters, Anglers, Kayakers & SUP Paddlers: Out enjoying the water.
☕ Diners & Families: Relaxing at local harbour cafes, pubs, and restaurants.
🧹 Tidy Towns & Canal Volunteers: Keeping our waterways pristine.

How We Cross the Finish Line Together! 🤝
Our Goal: Raise €3,000 to complete the 2 AED & cabinet installations.🙌

Our Commitment: Naas CFR will fully maintain both units, manage pad/battery replacements, handle responder oversight, and register both devices directly with the National Ambulance Service (NAS) 999/112 dispatch system.

Target Date: The Naas greenway unit fully installed, active, and live saving lives by December! 🎄

The Naas harbour unit ready to stop hearts breaking by valentines next year ❤️ 💔

Every single euro 💰directly protects our community on and off the water. Even donating the price of a coffee makes a huge difference!

🌧️ RAIN, CPR & RHINESTONE RHYTHMS: THANK YOU, NAAS! 💖

A massive, heart-filled THANK YOU ❤️ to every single legend who braved the classic Irish weather to join us for our community training night! 💪

We know we ran a little over time🫣—sorry about that! But as they say, time flies when you're having fun and cracking on with learning how to save lives! ⏱️✨

We hope everyone went home buzzing and feeling a whole lot more confident. Stepping forward in an emergency can feel scary, but after tonight, hopefully the fear around helping someone choking, starting CPR, or grabbing an AED feels way less daunting. You all smashed it! 🙌

🎄 MISSED OUT TONIGHT? DON'T FRET!
We’ll be announcing another public training session before Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled on this page for dates coming soon!

📢 SPREAD THE LOVE!

Also a big thank you to Craddockstowns school for letting us use their premises for our training 👏

🎶 A LITTLE COUNTRY TRIBUTE:
As news reached us this evening of the passing of the incredible Dolly Parton, we couldn't help but celebrate the absolute joy she brought to the world ❤️
Did you know her classics "Jolene" and "9 to 5" hit the absolute sweet spot for CPR compression rhythm? So next time you practice, channel your inner Rhinestone Cowgirl and keep that steady beat to a true legend. 🤠💖🎤

Thank you again, Naas, Sallins & Johnstown 🫶 Stay safe, look out for each other, and keep practicing!

🚨 BACK IN THE CLASSROOM TONIGHT IN NAAS! 🚨

Tonight was a truly special evening for our team delivering a certified Heartsaver CPR & AED course as a small token of our deepest gratitude to the incredible teams at Cross' Centra Hazelmere and Care at Home Naas. ❤️🫶

These two outstanding local businesses 🙌 went above and beyond by providing the generous sponsorship for TWO brand-new, 24/7 public access AEDs outside their premises.⚡️👏

But they didn't just stop at funding life-saving equipment—they spent their evening stepping up to learn how to save a life themselves 💪 That is genuine leadership and heart. 💚👏

💚 TOGETHER FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Our own instructor Jim (Naas CFR) was joined by Martina our coordinator (Naas CFR), two brilliant instructors from our neighboring schemes:
Phil from Kilcullen CFR, Jason from Portarlington CFR & Amanda our NAS Community Engagement Officer 🚑
There is nothing quite like seeing local businesses, CFR groups, and neighbors coming together with one shared goal: protecting the community we all call home 🏡❤️ When it comes to keeping hearts beating, we are truly all in this together 🙌

To Centra Hazelmere and Care at Home Naas 🫶—thank you for backing us, protecting your neighbors, and helping us build a safer Naas. 💪👏 ❤️⚡

📸 SPOTTED AT ESMONDALE! 🏡🫀

Huge thanks to the Esmondale Residents’ Committee for snapping and sending over this fantastic photo of the new 24/7 Public Access AED now live at Dynasty Kitchen! 📸✨

Community spirit is at the absolute heart of everything we do. Seeing local residents, businesses, and volunteers come together like this to make our neighborhoods safer makes all the hard work worthwhile! 💚

📍 Reminder for nearby residents on the kilcullen road Naas: This AED is fully registered with the National Ambulance Service (999/112) and available 24/7 at the entrance to Esmondale on the Kilcullen Road.

Thank you Esmondale for the lovely photo and for being such brilliant supporters of a HeartSafe Naas! 🫀⚡

🚨 NEW 24/7 PUBLIC ACCESS AED LIVE OFF KILCULLEN ROAD NAAS! 🚨

We are thrilled to announce that the next AED on our 2026 priority list is officially LIVE and registered with the National Ambulance Service! 🫀⚡

You’ll find it installed right on the front of Dynasty Kitchen, at the entrance to Esmondale, just off the Kilcullen Road. 📍

🌟 HOW WE GOT HERE 🌟
At the start of 2026, our new Naas CFR committee made a promise: to add atleast 4 new AEDs and 24/7 heated cabinets to our existing HeartSafe network in key areas across Naas, Sallins, and Johnstown far from existing AED infrastructure.

Since then, we haven't stopped:
🏢 Plotted business strategies to secure corporate sponsorship
📜 Achieved official Irish Charity Regulator registration
🏃‍♀️ Got creative with fundraising (including Mini Marathon sponsored walks & runs in Dublin and Naas!)
🤝 Attended community events such as Bealtaine and hit public & group CPR training targets
📝 Submitted grant applications... .....and we are not done yet! 👀📲

Today, Martina and Jim were proud to officially launch this crucial new unit 🙌

💚 A HEARTFELT THANK YOU 💙
This AED is a true community achievement.❤️ Thank you to every single person who helped make this a reality—everyone who donated, shared our posts, attended our events, and promoted awareness of our group to keep our communities HeartSafe.

👏 A SPECIAL ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO:
🔌 Sue, Phil & Christian at Abbey Electrical Services: Without Sue seeing our electrician plea on Facebook and reaching out right away, none of this would have been possible! Next time you see the Abbey Electrical van out and about, be sure to give Phil or Christian a beep and a wave! 👋⚡

🥢 Carlos & the team at Dynasty Kitchen: When we approached them back in June about hosting an AED on their premises, they did not hesitate for a second. We chose Dynasty Kitchen for its vital location on the Kilcullen Road in the heart of the community—well-known to everyone.👏🙌

🚀 WE HAVE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS—MORE TO COME! 👀
The support from our community has been overwhelmingly powerful. We have completely exceeded our initial expectations, and we are far from finished! We have even more news, exciting updates, and community events to share with you very shortly... so keep watching this space! 🚀✨

💙 HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT US TODAY
Whether you're an individual or a local business, every bit of support helps us respond faster and save lives.

🛒 Tesco Community Fund:
If you're shopping in little Tesco, please drop those little blue tokens into the Naas CFR box!

Thank you for backing us, Naas, Sallins & Johnstown 👏 Together, we are saving lives! 💚
