💚 A Little Disappointing… Please Help Us Look After Our Hub
We’re absolutely delighted that the Hub has been such a great success and that so many people are using it, enjoying it and making the most of this fantastic community facility. That’s exactly what it was created for. ❤️
However, we’re disappointed to say that we’re increasingly finding rubbish being left around the Hub, including drinks and food containers, wrappers, nappies and cigarette butts.
Unfortunately, this is not a new problem. We have already had to remove our Re-Turn bins because they were being badly misused, with general rubbish, food waste and other items being dumped in them. These bins were introduced as an important fundraising initiative, with the income helping us to pay down the €28,000 balance the committee is still struggling to clear on the Hub, as well as contributing towards its ongoing upkeep and maintenance. Their misuse has therefore directly impacted our ability to raise much-needed funds.
We really don’t want the actions of a small minority to take away from what has been a fantastic community achievement.
So we’re asking everyone to please play their part. 🙏
If you bring food, drinks, snacks or anything else to the Hub, please bring your rubbish home with you or dispose of it appropriately. And to the small minority who are leaving litter behind, please take a minute to pick up after yourselves.
The Hub belongs to the community and is there for everyone to enjoy, free of charge. Keeping it clean and looking after it is something we can all take responsibility for.
A huge thank you to everyone who does treat the Hub with the respect it deserves and continues to support the committee and all our fundraising efforts. Your support genuinely makes a difference. đź’š
Let’s keep our Hub something we can all be proud of. 🌳💚
