Glengarriff Defibrillator Group - GDG

Great news - a new defibrillator has been installed at the Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve

Defibrillator installed in Glengarriff Nature Reserve: NPWS would like to update our visitors and the local community, that an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has been installed at the Gate Lodge by the entrance to the Nature Reserve.

The AED was kindly sponsored by Bantry Credit Union, and the outdoor cabinet was kindly sponsored by Phone Pulse.

This project was coordinated and installed by Declan Bevan of Phone Pulse with the assistance of NPWS staff.

This is a great safety measure for all visitors to the Nature Reserve, and the AED will be added to the Glengarriff Defibrillator Group Assets, and will be closely monitored, to ensure it is fully operational and ready to save a life if needed.

The Glengarriff Sports field has purchased its own defibrillator and installed it after borrowing the one opposite Casey's for a few months. The village now has 5 defibrillators again, located at the church, Bernard's pub, O'Connell's (opposite Casey's), the Perrin hotel and the petrol station. Special thanks to Anne and Ger Galvin for completing the purchase and changeover of the defibrillators.
