⚠️ The deadline to apply for the Bus Éireann School Transport Scheme for the 2025–26 school year is fast approaching!

📅 Closing Date: Thursday, 25th April 2025

If you haven’t submitted your application yet, now’s the time — especially while the kids are off school for Easter and things are a bit calmer. Applications after April 25th are considered late and not guaranteed a seat.

Hoping the recent appointment of Minister McEntee to Minister for Education and Youyh will have a positive impact on our fight for eligible tickets and a Bus Éireann route for 29 children in the Rathcore area.

Thank you to all that turned up to support today. These are some of the children that need to be deemed ELIGIBLE by the Department of Education and Bus Éireann to a bus ticket for school. Schools in Trim are feeder schools for the Baconstown/Rathcore area. However tickets are given each year in a lottery basis. Parents have to endure the summer to know days before their child goes back to school whether they have a way for them to get there. Parents in the area are tired of this ridiculous process and are fighting for eligible tickets with a pick-up point in Rathcore. The parents of Rathcore have been campaigning this year to have a permanent school bus route for Rathcore to Post Primary schools in Trim. To make more of an impact we are protesting at the proposed pick-up/drop of point in Rathcore adjacent to a Boggans Bar. This route will not only service the students attending school now but will service those children in years to come.

We would be very grateful if anyone in the area would come to support the protest.
