Such a fantastic initiative headed up by 7th Meath Dunshaughlin Scout Group and Blaithin Crampton. Follow along on their journey to provide a hugely beneficial resource for our town.
7th Meath Dunshaughlin scouts showed 'Wilding' by Isabella Tree at the Ashbourne Film Festival on Saturday 14th of June.
Directly after the screening, we shared our ambitious plans to build a Nature Reserve and Scouting Facility in Dunshaughlin with the wider community.
We were joined by Ben Malone, Meath's Biodiversity Office & Valerija Ivanova from Murray & Associate Landscape Architects.
The photo below is our plan for our new home in the heart of Dunshaughlin, and we are excited to share this with the community for the first time.
Countless hours of preparation from many different people has gone into developing our site to what it is today. We couldn’t have done it without the generosity of Evan Newell, who has supported us immensely with the space. Thank you Evan - We are forever grateful for your service to Scouting & Biodiversity in Dunshaughlin.
We also couldn’t have gotten this far without our incredible team of volunteers in the group, and one volunteer in particular, Blaithin Crampton. Without her, we would not have been able to get this far and from the bottom of all our hearts - thank you! Your dedication and countless hours of support has been inspiring. A truly remarkable Scouter.
Another massive thank you to the wider community of Dunshaughlin & Meath for their support in our project. We are beyond grateful for the positivity and support from the community in our endeavours with the site.
As a final note, please take a look through our concept plan as we now share it to the public, for future generations of Scouts to explore the environment and foster a lasting love of nature!
