Yep, it's true! Because, sometimes they are. Comfort is a need too.

Babies nurse because they’re hungry, but they also nurse because they’re tired, overwhelmed, hurting, lonely, or simply need to feel close to you.

Comfort nursing doesn't create a bad habit. You are simply meeting your baby's needs.

We had a lovely busy meeting yesterday morning.
We spoke about starting solids, tips for a positive hospital birth and common challenges such as broken sleep. If anyone would like to join our WhatsApp group and come to our meetings just get in touch on 0863779879.

Join our friendly meet up for a cuppa and chats about all aspects of breastfeeding. Meeting is facilitated by accredited breastfeeding counsellor. All are welcome to join whether you are exclusively breastfeeding, pumping, combination feeding or just hoping to breastfeed. The World Health Organization & UNICEF recommend that children are breastfed for at least two years.

Research shows that human milk is a valuable source of nutrition and that toddlers who are breastfed have fewer illnesses and get better sooner than those who are not.

In the second year of a child's life, 448 mL of breastmilk provides:

29% of energy requirements
43% of protein requirements
36% of calcium requirements
75% of vitamin A requirements
76% of folate requirements
94% of vitamin B12 requirements
60% of vitamin C requirements
