Operation Targeting Organised Crime Group
A man has been arrested as part the ongoing investigation into the seizure of several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at a residential property in Dundalk, Co. Louth on 21st August 2026.
The man, who is aged in his 30s, was arrested in the course of an operation in Dundalk on Wednesday, 23rd September 2026.
He is currently being held under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a station in the Garda North Western Region.
On August 21st, as part of an ongoing investigation targeting an organised crime group, Gardaí conducted a number of searches in Dundalk.
Searches were conducted at a number of residential premises by members attached to Louth Cavan Monaghan Crime Functional Area with assistance from the Regional Armed Support Unit, the Special Detective Unit and the Army EOD Unit.
A number of items were seized during this operation including fi****ms and viable improvised explosive devices. 34 year old Ciara Brady from Cedarwood Park, Dundalk was arrested and charged with a total of six offences, including four charges of possessing fi****ms and two of possessing am******on.
Brady was granted bail with conditions, including that she surrenders her passport and signs on twice a week at Dundalk Garda station. She is due to appear before court again on the 25th of November.
