One more day of ! Let's finish strong! Article 30 of the : "Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein."

All over the world, the right to protest is under threat. Many countries, such as Chad, use security as an excuse to disrupt and ban peaceful demonstrations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights guarantees a right to live in peace, but peaceful protestors are not a threat to that right.

Learn more about threats to the right to protest and what you can do about it in our online course - it's totally free and only takes three hours! https://academy.amnesty.org/learn/course/external/view/elearning/201/the-right-to-protest

Another day of !

Article 29 of the makes us all responsible for contributing to our communities. It also limits our rights to avoid infringing on the rights of others and the interests of the United Nations.

Our duty to our communities is more important than ever. As our Secretary General Agnès Callamard put it, "We are confronting the most challenging moment of our age. Humanity is under attack from transnational anti-rights movements and predatory governments determined to assert their dominance through unlawful wars and brazen economic blackmail..."

Another very delayed day of ! Article 28 states that, "everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized."

Everyone has this right, including 13-year-old Tasneem from Sudan. Non-profits have been sounding the alarm for years: the war in Sudan is "a stain on the conscience of humanity," according to Amnesty International's Secretary General Agnès Callamard. Civilians are not "collateral damage" there - they are deliberately targeted. The victims are not soldiers, they are people like Tasneem, who was abducted and r***d several times by RSF soldiers after they shot her father.
