Project Fun Direction

Project Fun Direction Offering girls aged 5-8 from disadvantaged areas better opportunities to participate in organised sport locally, developing physical literacy + life skills

Delivered the right way, sports participation is a great way for us to foster positive child development and wellbeing. We are constantly learning better ways to engage with children in sport through age-appropriate coaching. Yet we still deny lots of young girls the opportunities boys have, to experience and participate in sport locally in a meaningful way. Our intitial 2 multi-sport camps in Eas

t Wall and O'Connells School will accomodate 100 local girls, most of whom have never played organised sport before, and lead into a once-weekly multi-sport activity for them to enjoy and develop Agility, Balance and Co-ordination (ABC) movment skills. The girls will get to experience Football, Gaelic, Camogie, Boxing, Cricket and mini Rugby with qualified coaches.
