There will be a special Memorial Shoot in honour of Wes O’Reilly held on 31st May at Fingal Sporting Club. This is a chance to celebrate a great man, enjoy some friendly competition, and support an important cause.

🏆 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐌𝐜𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 – 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 🏆

The Dublin Regional Game Council were honoured to present 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 for the very first time, a special trophy awarded to the person who recorded the heaviest Grouse taken during the September Grouse season on the Dublin Mountains.

We were delighted to welcome 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘆 and 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘆, Paddy’s wife and daughter, who graciously presented the trophy to this year’s deserving winner, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱. It was a proud and memorable moment for everyone present.
Emma spoke beautifully and fondly about her father Paddy and his long-standing association with the Dublin Regional Game Association, a touching reminder of his contribution, passion, and the legacy he leaves behind within the community.

Congratulations to 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 on winning the inaugural Paddy McCartney Perpetual Trophy, and sincere thanks to the McCartney family for sharing this special occasion with us. A fitting tribute to Paddy and a trophy that will carry great meaning for years to come!

A proud moment for St. Margaret’s Game Association! 🏆

Congratulations to everyone involved on winning the DRGC Vermin Cup, an outstanding achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of all members.

The National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC) Wing Surveys play a crucial role in protecting and sustainably managing our migratory bird species, including ducks, snipe, and woodcock.

By getting involved, you help provide vital information on species, age and s*x ratios, and population trends, the kind of data that can’t be gathered by observation alone. Your participation truly makes a difference!

✅ How You Can Help

• Submit one wing from each bird you harvest for analysis
• Complete your online bag returns

Every wing you provide supports sustainable hunting and helps ensure our traditions can be enjoyed by future generations.

📍 Wings can be given to your County Delegate before our quarterly meeting or sent directly to the NARGC office in Mountmellick.

The 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 wishes all our members and the wider shooting community a safe, successful, and enjoyable season ahead.

As excitement builds for the first day in the field, here are a few important reminders:

✅ 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 – Always follow NARGC guidelines and your club’s rules.
✅ 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 – Your quarry, fellow hunters, and the landowners who make our sport possible.
✅ 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 – Take only what you’ll use and appreciate the conservation work that keeps our traditions alive.
✅ 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝘁 𝗢𝗻 – Bring along a young or new member to help preserve our heritage.
✅ 𝗕𝗮𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 – Log your bag count on the National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC) website (Membership > Record Bag Count).

Let’s make this season about friendship, tradition, and respect for the countryside.
