Youth Activism Ireland is a non-for-profit voluntary youth organisation which aspires to take effective actions on issues that concern young people. YAI is a youth forum for young activists, which provides an opportunity to network and do effective work. Members of YAI work at their own expense and true dedication. Each YAI member provides a value of their own as they are involved with various org
anisations. YAI does not represent any group of people of Ireland but rather provides an opportunity for dedicated activists to act. Membership:
Membership is completely voluntary and open to anyone that is willing to dedicate their time to work on issues. Every YAI member is equal regardless of their background or held positions in other organisations. There are no elected officers. Members have the opportunity to do equal amounts of work. Meetings:
Meetings are held during weekends at the discretion of the YAI members. Members decide on dates and times amongst themselves in order to provide the most suitable meeting time. Meetings are completely flexible. They can take place every week or every couple of months; all depends on the decision of members. Leadership:
Every member of YAI has an equal rank. The organisation is completely youth-led by the decision of the members. A certain person may be nominated to represent YAI at external meetings. Certain members can also be nominated to do certain work. Tight decisions are resolved by a democratic vote; 50% of YAI +1 person win the vote.
