IRELANDโ€™S OWN. NEIL Oโ€™BRIEN.

Some names need no introduction.

Dance Awards Ireland welcomes acclaimed Irish choreographer, dancer and educator Neil Oโ€™Brien to our 2026 Masterclass faculty.

A Dublin-based multidisciplinary choreographer, Neilโ€™s career spans television, theatre, live entertainment and international touring.

His credits include Dancing with the Stars Ireland, The Late Late Toy Show, Late Late Show specials, Fossettโ€™s Circus, and work at the Abbey Theatre, Olympia Theatre, Cork Opera House and UCH Limerick.

Having trained in New York City and toured internationally with Ponydance, Neil has built a career across commercial dance and theatre while becoming a highly sought-after educator throughout Ireland and the UK.

On Friday 23 October, he brought that experience into the studio for an exclusive 90-minute Commercial Jazz Masterclass.

Meet James.
Our fifth and final New Generation Advocate for 2026/27.
There is something very grounded about James. He speaks about dance with a real sense of purpose, but also with an understanding that becoming a dancer is not only about what happens in training or on stage.
His journey, his ambitions and the way he sees the dance world are exactly why we wanted young dancers themselves to have a voice within Dance Awards Ireland.
James joins Chloe, Nevaeh, Rhys and Ella to complete our New Generation Advocates for 2026/27, each bringing a completely different personality, experience and perspective.
Five young dancers.
Five individual voices.
One New Generation.
Over the coming year, our Advocates will share their experiences, their perspectives and their love of dance, while helping us create a stronger connection between young dancers and the wider industry.
