The only way to do dairy 🐮

Yes we are back, I didn’t die - quite, but it’s been a long and lonely few years and one hell of a journey since losing our farm tenancy back in Suffolk in 2021. For 3 long years I was homeless, travelling with my herd moving from grazing license to grazing license, away from friends and family, sleeping in barns sheds and a tin stock box for the past 3 years like a nomadic herdswoman. But we (the majority of the herd) made it and pleased to say The Calf at Foot Dairy is back up and running selling our milk from a fabulous farm back near my family in Hertfordshire. Yes I do have a huge story to tell but it’s too big for social media and firstly I have to prioritise the cows and the cause, which is of course ‘to make the world a better place for dairy cows’

We are open 24/7/365 Self/service at the Farm Gate and our efficient swift online shop is back up and running sending milk all over the UK.

I have to say huge thanks to the patience of our wonderful landlords John, Joanna, and Matt / for believing in CAFD, sharing their space without any exploitative agenda being so flexible, patient and understanding. I now have the luxury of having a roof over my head and a flipping washing machine to boot is bliss.

As much as I can say I am the happiest I have ever been in my whole life! As grateful as I am to be back, it’s still bloody tough, exhausting & we are chasing our tails, so please again as ever before do continue to support us: Buy our beautiful raw milk and our incredible Gold-Top Beef, If you don’t buy milk or beef just share our posts as it’s not all buttercups and roses the huge bills still keepa coming on in

It's encouraging to see the NSPCA highlighting this cruel industry, althought they don't seem to quite grasp the severity of the industry or the illegality. They are looking for people's opinions so it might be helpful if some of you leave a comment on their post.
It would be great if the NSPCA got involved in this area 🐮

Shipping heavily pregnant dairy cows to North Africa is a new low for Ireland. These animals are particularly vulnerable and many have given birth prematurely during the journey, to both alive and dead calves. This industry is steeped in cruelty and suffering

With the rare heat we've had in Ireland today, set to continue for the week, it must be hell in intensive pig and poultry farms. Of course some have decent ventilation, but some definitely don't. Animals should not be in factories 🐷
