👏 A round of applause for Kilmeen Drama Group!

The winners of the Abbey Theatre Award at this year's RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival, Kilmeen Drama Group wrapped their sold-out run of Ballyturk on the Peacock Stage last night.

The production also claimed Best Director, Best Actress, Best Stage Setting and the Perpetual Trophy at this year's awards.

Congratulations to the cast, crew and creative team on such a successful production! 🥳

Today we paid our annual pre-Summer School visit to UL - and no visit to UL is complete without a photo of Brown Thomas. A lot of work was done in our meeting with the UL staff in preparation for the week. All will be revealed in due course.

Many thanks to Mary Torsney (ADCI) for the wonderful job she did as ADCI/DLI Joint Committee (6&6) Secretary.

Best wishes to the new Joint Committee Secretary Joanne Keane (DLI) as she takes up the role. We know she will do her very best to help ensure the One Act Circuit runs as smoothly as possible for the groups and the festivals.

Here’s to a mighty Circuit in 2026 and we’re looking forward already to a fabulous One Act Finals hosted by Letterkenny One Act Drama Festival🎉

On Sunday May 24 DLI held our Annual General Meeting. Delegates attended from all four provinces and we were extremely well looked after by Backstage TheatreGroup in Longford, who hosted the meeting. We reviewed a very successful year and there was lively discussion. Thank you to all involved and especially to all who travelled to be there on the first summery day.

On a day of fabulous weather Backstage Theatre, Longford hosted the Drama League of Ireland Convention 2026. Members of the host group looked after everyone so well.
