Both athletes will take on the 29.2km Individual Time Trial, racing against the clock across two laps of the course.

Unlike the time trial, it is not simply about recording the fastest time. The first athlete or tandem across the finish line in each classification wins.

The rainbow bands are cyclingโ€™s mark of a World Champion. Win a UCI World Championship and you earn the right to wear the iconic rainbow jersey for the next year when competing in the event you won.

The jersey features five coloured bands, blue, red, black, yellow and green, representing the five continents.

Thatโ€™s why youโ€™ll see Katie George Dunlevy and Linda Kelly racing in rainbow rather than the usual Irish colours in Huntsville.
