Great to welcome students from the University of Hartford today.

They met with our founder Fr Peter McVerry to learn about the housing crisis and the challenges facing Irish society. Peter shared insights on founding Peter McVerry Trust, what he has learned from working alongside people experiencing homelessness, and the factors that have led to today’s housing situation, along with the work PMVT is doing to reduce homelessness.

Yesterday we marked International Nurses Day by bringing together our nurses and healthcare assistants to recognise their dedication, hard work, and the energy they bring to our teams every day.

It was a great opportunity to step away from daily duties, connect with colleagues across our services, and share experiences.

Most importantly, it gave us a chance to acknowledge the impact our staff make, on each other and on those we support.

And yes, there was coffee and cake too! ☕🍰

🐣 Children living in one of our services got into the Easter spirit this week with a special Easter‑themed creative workshop. They filled the space with colour, imagination, and lots of beautifully crafted artwork and decorations.

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at the Ballymun Child & Family Resource Centre for hosting this lovely event.

🏆 2-3 Mallow St wins two Irish Building & Design Awards

We're delighted to hear that 2-3 Mallow St has won the Heritage /Conservation Project of the Year (Small) and Retrofitting /Renovation Project of the Year (Large) at the Irish Building and Design Awards. Huge congratulations to C&N Higgins Construction Ltd and all the project partners.

Delivered in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, the project is a fantastic example of how a vacant heritage site can be transformed into modern, energy-efficient homes.

Art students at our Learning Centre – Carline have submitted two incredible entries to this year’s RTÉ This Is Art! competition, celebrating creativity, expression and the unique voices of young artists across Ireland.

‘Swimming in the same direction’ represents the student’s individuality whilst also being part of the same school and swimming in the same direction (towards completing their Junior Certificate).

‘This is Home’ is inspired by zero waste, the student’s local village and the idea of Ireland as a little island.

Winners are announced this month, wishing our students the best of luck! 🍀

🌍 This week our team organised events across our services to celebrate International Mother Language Day, a day to raise awareness and celebrate language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world. The activities gave people an opportunity to come together and share their culture and language with each other.

Our Drug Free Supported Housing participants recently enjoyed a Peer Support social outing to Kilmainham Gaol, where they explored the historic site together and took part in a guided tour.

Experiences like this create space for participants to learn something new, share meaningful conversations, and connect with each other in a relaxed, supportive environment. Feedback from participants was positive, with many saying that activities like this help them feel a sense of belonging and a return to “normality” compared to their lives during addiction.

Today, on Care Day 2026, we join organisations and communities across Ireland and beyond in recognising, celebrating, and supporting young people with care experience.

We are so proud of all of the children and young people who are in or who have been in our children's residential services and our aftercare services, where we support young people (over 18) through their transition to independent living.

Every young person deserves safety, stability, opportunities for fun and the chance to thrive, and to know that they, their voices, talents and identities matter.
