βI started drinking and taking drugs when I was a teenager, to escape from my thoughts. I felt so uncomfortable in my body.β
When Jennifer first walked through the doors of Jane's Place, she couldn't catch anyone's eye. Her shoulders were hunched. She didn't say a word. She had been carrying so much, for so long. A childhood filled with fear.
But at Jane's Place, no one rushed her. The same open door. The same warm welcome. A cup of tea pressed into cold hands. Every single time. Slowly, Jennifer began to trust. To open up. To heal.
"I used to cry in every session. When I stopped, I realised I was beginning to heal."
For many women, Jane's Place is the only place they feel safe enough to do that. But our doors can only stay open with your help. Please consider donating, so women like Jennifer always have somewhere to turn.
Because healing takes time. And it takes you.
