Thanks to all who have been out this past week. Litter picks carried out, weeding and cleaning of Cannons Well area in the town, where we have lots of natural planting , native trees, and is a gem for bees, bats, native birds, while the river is full of fish species.

🐝 🪴 🌿 🌳 🐟

Its also a place of lovely solitude where you can sit and listen to the river flow.

This morning we planted our hanging baskets in conjunction with Sophia and John at ArraTipp. Sophia guided us on the importance of pollinator friendly planting, and we will have many baskets in the town this year which are all made up of pollinator friendly planting.

Sophia, John and all the Team at Arrabawn Co Op Newport thank you so much for the advice and hospitality this morning and thanks to everyone in the community who helped out.

Lots of work carried out this week .

Trimmed and cut back some shrubbery at the Catholic Church on Monday evening. Also weeded area at the Protestant Graveyard.

On Tuesday evening we had a meeting with Newport Town Team in conjunction with Tipperary County Council, where we discussed some projects for the coming year and also tackling dereliction and vacancy in the town.

Flower bed completed at Glenwood Housing Estate in Newport.

Litter pick carried out of the town over the weekend and also on some roads outside the town. Lovely to see some Native Trees blooming at Custom Gap Road.

Paid a visit to Our Community Sensory Garden at Newport Community Centre. Well done to Donal Meaney , PJ White and all the Team at Newport Community Centre for keeping this area in tip top shape. Lovely to see the pollinator planting here.

Trimmed and cut back area at Black Road around our Town Sign.

Thanks also to our outdoor staff member Pat of Tipperary County Council for his help this week with weeding at the Black Road. We look forward to his support again this week.

We meet again tomorrow eve, and next Saturday Morning May 23rd we will be planting our hanging baskets at Arrabawn Coop with Sophia at 11am. This year our hanging baskets will all be made up of pollinator friendly flowers. 🌼 🌸 🌻

Thanks to all our volunteers out and about this weekend. Litter picks carried out, weeding and also some planting carried out at John's Avenue, duck house area cleaned. Great to see The Convent Primary School doing The Picker Pal Programme with the children. Delighted to have one of them join us this beautiful morning on our rounds. We meet tomorrow eve at 7pm if anyone has an hour to join us.
