Johnny Devitt Memorial Regatta

Delighted to share that we managed to raise over €5,800 for the Kate O’Callaghan fund at this year’s regatta. Thanks to everyone who supported this brilliant event so generously. Look forward to seeing you all again next May.

The 5th annual Johnny Devitt regatta completed at the weekend and what an event it was. 34 sailors from across Ireland (and London) battled it out in ‘champagne’ sailing conditions, while we had a record number of ladies taking part too.

In a brilliant final, new champion Paul McMahon (HYC) squeezed home ahead of home favourite Toby Bedell (MYC) and Evan Dolan (NYC) with only 0.25 pts separating them. It was great to see many sailors taking part for the first time, including Peter Levins and Laura Dillon, while Paula Mc Grogan took home the First Lady prize.

A BBQ buffet and raffle took place at Malahide in the evening while the pints flowed, and we managed to raise over €4,000 for an excellent cause - Kate O’Callaghan Cancer Treatment. The guitars came out in the evening as we put another great event to bed.
