GREAT Courageous Goals for 2026 🌿
On 4th December, MINDEMN was proud to represent and advocate for youth well-being at the Community Education Network meeting, organised by AONTAS.
Surrounded by community educators, youth workers, and leaders, and guided by the Charter of Community Education, the message was clear: well-being is a shared responsibility.
At MINDEMN, we see ourselves as an early prevention and intervention organisation, grounded in mind-emotional nurturing. Our work focuses on equipping educators, youth practitioners, and community education professionals with the tools to support young people’s emotional development in everyday learning environments.
We believe young people can become self-scientists, learning to understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours when guided by informed, confident adults before distress becomes suffering.
It brings us back to a powerful question as we close the year:
“Nature loads the gun — but nurture pulls the trigger.”
So, as we look ahead to 2026, we’re setting a GREAT Courageous Goal:
✨ To support youth across Ireland by strengthening the adults, systems, and learning environments around them — through emotional education that empowers, not pathologises.
💭Open discussion:
❓How can communities, schools, families, youth organisations, policymakers, and government come together to:
1. Reduce unnecessary mental and emotional suffering
2. Nurture emotional awareness early
3. Help young people balance System 1 (automatic reactions) and System 2 (thoughtful responses) and embed Social & Emotional Learning as a foundation for life?
We believe the future lies not in fixing youth, but in nurturing the educational and community environments where they can thrive.
Thank you to everyone who walked alongside us in 2025.
Here’s to GREAT conversations, GREAT compassion, and GREAT collective action in 2026.
