Our Irish Environmental Network coverage continues!
On Saturday, we visited our beloved Lecarrow Wood reserve in Co Roscommon.
With support from guest guide John Crossan, we explored the woodland with fresh perspective. Not only identifying and learning about the various trees, flowers and critters we came across, but how the Irish people have used them in times gone by.
We also got to visit a brand new grove of trees our volunteers planted over winter. Propagated from seed from St. Johns Wood, the hazel, holly, oak, crab apple, spindle and hawthorn trees were delighting in a much needed downpour. And so too were the volunteers who planted them!
Join our Roscommon branch or any of our County branches nationwide!
Help us expand old woodlands, and grow brand new ones, one seed at a time ๐
Thanks to John Crossan and to Irish Environmental Network for making this wonderful week of events possible. We're grateful for the opportunity to showcase our nature reserves countrywide, and the incredible work our MARVELOUS volunteers are doing ! ๐
