Bhí an-spraoi go deo againn ar an gCampa Comics & Spraoi ar an gCeathrú Rua. Chruthaigh na daoine óga scéalta, greannáin agus ealaín iontach agus d'imir muid neart cluichí. Rinne na healaíontóirí óga cur i láthair ar an lá deiridh agus ba léir go raibh 'chuile dhuine an-bhródúil as a saothar. Comhghairdeas le 'chuile dhuine a bhí páirteach. Молодці, всі!

Buíochas le Noreen, Pádraig, Sinéad, Fiona, Saffron agus Abbie ón gClár Críochnú Scoile.

Ní thusa do chlann, scríobh d'amhrán, gan comhairle ná peann" a chan na hógánaigh ar an gCampa Cumadóireachta in Amharclann Chois Fharraige (Seanscoil Sailearna). Chuir siad croí agus anam ina gcuid amhrán agus is léir go bhfuil siad ar fad ag treabhadh a ngort féin, ag cruthú, ag cumadh agus ag canadh. Tá muid buíoch gur thug siad cead dúinn an obair a bhí idir lámha acu a thaifeadadh. Focal buíochais do Simon Boyle a bhí ar fáil lena cheamara agus a shúil ghrinn. Tá spiorad Fighting Words beo i gConamara!

Fighting Words would like to extend our deepest condolences to Glen Hansard’s family and friends in this time of their loss. Glen was a supporter of our work at Fighting Words from our earliest days in 2009.

More recently Glen collaborated with us and the Irish Red Cross to headline Inner Light - Concert for Ukraine in 2023 and earlier this year he guided everyone in a rousing version of “The Auld Triangle” at Dublin City Council’s unveiling of a plaque in honour of Brendan Behan at Behan Square. Godspeed to you, Glen. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann!

The 2026 summer camps with Fighting Words continued this week with the three-day Poetry & Fiction Summer Camp.

Thanks to our generous hosts at the Carmelite Community Centre, these young authors furthered their fiction writing by developing in-depth plots, characters, and dialogue. They also strengthened their poetry skills. All of these young writers showed great excitement for creativity in their stories and poems.

This week’s Songwriting Summer Camp for teens concluded today with great success!

Young songwriters wrote incredible songs using guitars, pianos, drums, and even violins. They learned about song construction and asked experienced songwriters questions. We were thrilled to welcome the talented Mundy, who performed for us and encouraged our young musicians!

Thank you to everyone who participated in this camp, and stay tuned for more opportunities to join us!
