STATEMENT ON THE MISREPRESENTATION OF THE LE CHÉILE COALITION

Le Chéile Coalition is not involved in this event in any capacity, and we do not endorse it.

We view the shared struggle for antifascism and Palestinian liberation as part of a unified fight against colonialism, racism, war, and systemic oppression.

We remain deeply committed to campaigning for the freedom, justice, and equality of the Palestinian people.

We were delighted to attend and show solidarity with the Together march in London last weekend. The atmosphere was electric and hopeful.

Community groups, trade unions and parties from accross Britain worked together to build for largest anti racist demonstration in British history.

The struggle against rise of the far right is an international problem because governments are refusing to deal with the cost of living crisis, the housing crisis and are deliberately mismanaging and underfunding public services.

When we stand together in solidarity against the far right, bigotry, racism and the failing establishment we can and will win.

The baem community, refugees, women and the LGBTQIA community are disproportionately effected by pollution and climate change.

On November 15t COP30 is being held in Brazil and our friends in Stop Climate Chaos have organised a march to protest the use of fossil fuels and to urge for action against climate change by our governments.

Please join us for the antifascist/ antiracist bloc with banners and flags at 12:45pm outside the garden of remembrance.

Climate change deepens existing inequalities; it does not affect everyone equally. Marginalised groups are disproportionately effected by climate change. Women are more likely to be climate refugees. Migrants are more likely to be effected by pollution and climate change in the countries they came from.

Fighting climate change requires a struggle against all forms of discrimination and bigotry including sexism, racism, and fascism, not just a fight against ecological destruction.

There can be no climate justice without social justice.

There can be no climate justice without racial justice.

There can be no climate justice without gender justice.

"There is no thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives."

23/10/2025

Le Chéile stands in solidarity with victims of sexual assault and their families. We stand against gender based violence and condemn the misdirection of justified anger at minority groups.

The safeguarding failures of TUSLA represent a government failure, and there must be action to prevent this from happening ever again. No child living in Ireland should be terrorised in their home, and no child living in Ireland should be sexually assaulted. However, there are bad faith actors who are misdirecting anger away from the government and taking the attention away from fixing the fundamental flaws in the system. Today, children from minority backgrounds are afraid of simply walking to school. The demonisation of minority groups distracts from the main issue: the government failure of children in State care.

This week alone, there have been over 3 other cases of sexual assault and violence reported in the news. The same orchestrators of the riots in Citywest are silent when the suspected perpetrators are white and Irish. We urge people who are tempted to join the protest or give oxygen to racist talking points to instead focus their outrage firmly where it belongs: at TUSLA and the government for continuing to fail victims in state care. The only way to achieve justice for women and children is to listen to the communities and organisations that have spent decades fighting for justice. Which side are you on?
