Mendicity Institution

Mendicity Institution The Mendicity aims to create opportunities for people experiencing homelessness, isolation and marginalization to live better lives. RCN 20001322

The Mendicity Institution is the oldest working charity in Dublin. Established in 1818, it has been in operation for over 200 years creating opportunities for people experiencing homelessness, isolation and marginalization to live better lives. We help people empower themselves so they can work their way out of homelessness. We are inclusive, we are innovative and we provide quality service to all

who come to us. Our food and day service is open 6 days a week offering meals and support free of charge for those who are homeless. In addition to our core service we operate a social enterprise. The Mendicity Social Enterprise offers employment and a route out of homelessness for its participants. Employees receive training an upskilling throughout their time in the Social Enterprise. They create handmade products from recycled materials, mainly wood, in the Workshop. In our coffee truck, Hard Ground, our trained baristas serve coffee to the public Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 2 pm. All funds generated through our social enterprise (Workshop and Hard Ground) are reinvested in Mendicity's core services. For more information visit www.mendicity.org

Food and Day Service Hours:
Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 2.30 pm
Sunday 9.30 am - 1.30 pm
