Miford Community Games take home Silver medal in the Boys u12 All Ireland Community games Soccer played in Carlow. A proud day for Milford as they beat Fossa from Kerry in the All Ireland semi Final 3-2 with 2 goals from Pauric Orr in 1st half to go 2 nil up. Ryan Peoples made it 3 nil with 15 minutes to go. Fossa came back strong and scored 2 to leave score 3-2 with 5 minutes to go but Milford held on to make the Final. A great team performance with some excitement saves from Conal Whyte. Milford went on to play against a very strong St John's from Kilkenny City in the Final. St John's went in 1 nil up at half time. Milford came back strong in the 2nd half and were rewarded when Ryan Peoples made a strong run into the box and was fouled. Up stepped captain Tom Edwards to cool dispatch the penalty. Kilkenny came back strong to go 2-1 up and then were awarded a penalty to make it 3-1. Milford pushed forward but unfortunately couldn't get a 2nd goal to get back in the game. St John's got another penalty but this time Conal Whyte made a fantastic save and the game finished 3-1. Everyone in Milford & Rathmullan areas are super proud of the boys to be coming home as All Ireland runners up, a great achievement for the 15 boys & coaches.
