Lambay Cinema Club are delighted to present the first short of our Autumn–Winter Season!

"Unconventional Methods" by John Kennedy 🎥

John is a writer and director based in Waterford. His previous work has screened internationally and picked up a number of awards, including Best Short Documentary for 'Happy Herd' & Best International Film for 'Scary Houses'.

Working as a documentary maker and Director of Photography (DOP), John brings a wealth of experience to his filmmaking.

His latest project, *Unconventional Methods*, has enjoyed a very successful festival run this year, screening to audiences around the world.

John is currently working towards bringing his 1st feature film to the big screen.

We’re delighted to support Irish filmmaking and to showcase John’s work as part of our AW season.

The Lambay Cinema Club Crew have enjoyed a lovely summer break.

We are ready to welcome you all back for an exciting Autumn Winter Season of movies.

We kick off with DJ Ahmet on 17th of September.

A young shepherd besotted with his neighbour rigs up his tractor to play music so she can practise dance routines in a story that remains sunny without hiding hardship.

You’re the first celebrity from the village!” This is Ahmet, a teenager from an isolated farming community in North Macedonia who is all over TikTok after being filmed chasing his sheep through an illegal rave in a field. His flock of bassline junkies escaped their pen and charged straight over to the rave, to the hilarity of the clubbers. It’s a funny moment in Georgi M Unkovski’s totally charming coming-of-age, a film with serious points but choosing to make them with kindness and a mostly sunny worldview.

DJ Ahmet is a 2025 drama film directed and written by Georgi M. Unkovski. It follows the life of Ahmet, a 15-year-old boy in rural North Macedonia. The film had its world premiere at the World Cinema Competition section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on 23 January, where it won the section’s Audience Award.
