We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of John Kelly, a devoted husband and loving father and a valued member of our local community. At this difficult time, our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with Leaha, Caolim, Críoadh, and all of their family and friends.

May he rest in peace.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of John Kelly, beloved husband of our colleague and friend Leaha, devoted father to Caolim and Críoadh, and a valued member of our preschool community.

John served on our Board of Management for many years, generously giving his time, wisdom, and support to help our preschool grow and thrive. His contribution will be remembered with gratitude.
John was well known to many in our community and his kindness, dedication, and support left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At this difficult time, our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with Leaha, Caolim, Críoadh, and all of their family and friends. May they find comfort in the many happy memories they shared and in the knowledge that John touched the lives of so many.

On behalf of the Staff, Board of Management, children, and families of the preschool, we extend our deepest condolences.

May John rest in peace.

We would like to express our deepest thanks to the Red Fox Tractor Run team, the families of the late Emer Donovan Naughton and everyone who participated, donated or helped out at the 2026 Red Fox Tractor Run held in Emer’s memory, for their tremendous efforts in raising vital funds for Cromane CFR.

Some of our members attended the cheque presentation last Saturday receiving the astounding figure of €9,765. This tremendous generosity doesn’t just support a cause-it strengthens a lifeline. Every euro raised helps us continue the vital work we do for the local community.
Being a Community First Responder is both a privilege and a responsibility. We are neighbours helping neighbours-local responders answering local emergencies. We’ve already had the privilege of helping dozens and dozens of families and individuals since we formed in 2024. We are not a replacement for the incredible NAS paramedics, who we see doing tremendous work day and night. Instead, we are the local link in the chain of survival, the ones who can reach a home, a workplace or a scene in those first critical minutes while the ambulance is on its way.
Like so many CFR groups across Ireland, Cromane CFR is built on that simple but powerful idea: when every second counts, someone from your own community can be at your door within minutes, bringing fast, skilled, compassionate care. That is what your support makes possible.

Your support comes at a crucial time for us. New responders are coming online, our team is strengthening its skills, we’re widening our scope, and we’re continuing to grow and maintain the public AED network across Killorglin, Caragh Lake and Cromane. None of this progress is possible without the backing of the very people we serve.

We train locally, we recruit locally, and we are always looking for new volunteers. No experience is needed—we provide all training in-house. And even if becoming an active responder isn’t for you, we are proud to offer lifesaving training to local schools, clubs, and community groups. Sharing lifesaving knowledge to strengthen the whole community.

So from all of us in Cromane CFR,
Thank You. ❤️

🚑 Access Matters – Every Second Counts 🚑

Our crews often attend incidents where poorly parked vehicles have made roads completely impassable for emergency vehicles. When seconds count, delays like this can quite literally cost lives.

We fully understand that parking in built-up and busy areas can be challenging, and nobody sets out to cause a problem. However, even a small obstruction can prevent a 5.5-tonne ambulance from getting through when someone urgently needs help.

Please take a moment to think before you park. Leave space for emergency vehicles, pay attention to signage, and consider whether a larger vehicle could safely pass.

Thanks to NAS Finglas for sharing!
